Brian’s sister, Brenda, comes to visit sometimes. One of the things she loves to organize is a day trip to Maple Grove. Since it’s getting colder, everyone knew this would be the last trip of the year. Sometimes we (and I use “we” loosely here! It’s mostly my mother-in-law and sister-in-law who do the cooking) fry chicken and scones over the campfire. It’s delicious, but also a lot of hard work. This time it was decided to have hoagie sandwiches and s’mores. Much easier!
We get out of church at noon and Brian and the kids headed right up. Nora needed a nap so we stayed home. Nora and I got up there around 4 pm. The sun was heading down and it was getting chilly but we managed to make s’mores and have fun for a little while!
Cousins by the creek.
Corban mostly stayed by the fire and burned things. I’m pretty sure the kid is a pyromaniac—wonder where he gets that tendency from?
Kyleigh is so pretty! Sorry about the rest of you in this picture! lol
Brenda tickles the kids with something called Criss Cross. The kids all love it and Nora is no exception! She loves her Aunt Brenda.
We had a fun time at the Grove but it sure gets cold quickly after the sun goes down!

I miss being so close to the Canyon...remember how we would just pop up there to eat dinner? It helps to have mountains just a few miles away.
